What Will The JASPak 1350 Run, And For How Long?

The JASPak 1350 Portable Solar Generator works from a single 110Ah AGM battery. The rule for general operation of a solar generator is to not consume more than 50% of the battery in any single usage to provide for a long battery life and maximum charge/recharge cycles. The information below assumes battery operation only and NO SOLAR INPUT. Running time is greatly increased while solar power is being generated and put back into the system! If you adapt your usage to this rule, you can expect the following running times based on watts consumed:The JASPak Solar Generator

The JASPak 1350 uses a 1000 watt Pure Sine Wave inverter with a peak surge of 1500 watts for 1-2 seconds. This system is designed to run equipment under 1000 watts.

USB and 12VDC Power Ports

The system includes two USB power ports that enable you to charge a variety of USB devices. Charging current up to 2.1a per outlet and will charge most tablets, pads and phones. Also, we have built in one 12VDC outlet for L.E.D. lighting, car chargers and any other 12VDC appliance you may need.

Solar Recharging

The JASPak Solar GeneratorThe 100 watt panel includes 50′ of power cable and can be setup in seconds. Additional panels can be added at any time to decrease charging time!  When needed, you just place the panel and plug it in. We have built a truly cyclic system that is designed to run for days and days on a simple charge/recharge cycle.

The JASPak 1350 Portable Solar Generator system comes standard with a 100 watt solar panel and can be upgraded up to 300 total watts of solar power. The following recharge times assume 1) No load on the system 2) Battery is at 50% depth of discharge 3) Solar input power is at 75% of rated wattage:

100 watt panel with 75 watts of power:…8-10 hours
200 watts with 150 watts of power:……..4-6 hours
300 watts with 180 watts of power:……..~4 hours

WARNING: Incorporation of more than 300 watts of solar power into the JASPak 1350 Portable Solar Generator will void the warranty and may cause equipment damage and personal harm.

Why Does This Unit Use PWM Charge Controllers And Not MPPT?

Our JASPak 1350 systems use smaller wattage solar panels with nominal voltages in the range of 18-22VDC. As such, the voltage output of the panels is better matched to the 12V system that is being recharged. There is no significant benefit to the more expensive MPPT style because the voltage does not have to be regulated down to the 12V recharging voltages. Our larger 300 and 520 systems produce voltages well over 30VDC and the MPPT technology makes significant use of this higher voltage into the 12V system being recharged.
